The first type of golf club is a wood. To the contrary of what the name suggests, the heads are not made out of wood. Usually woods are made out of hollow metal, usually steel or titanium. They are designed to allow for the greatest distance with each stroke. Out of the 14 clubs in a standard set, the woods make up less than half. They are usually used on the long and straight portions of the golf course, since they allow for the greatest distance with semi-decent accuracy. The accuracy is certainly not the strong point of the woods, and usually it takes plenty of practice to be able to keep the ball on a straight course. Woods are also the longest clubs in the set.
Irons come next, and they are used most frequently throughout the game. They are very versatile compared to the other two types of clubs, and therefore make up a larger amount of the clubs in your bag. They can still achieve fairly large distances, though not quite as far as the woods can. Depending on which particular iron you use, you can have a much higher level of accuracy and get the ball a lot closer to where you want it to be. There are many different kinds of irons that have very specific uses, such as those that are meant to get you out of the sand traps or pop the ball up over an obstacle.
The final type of golf club is the putter, and a standard golf bag usually only contains one of these. These are used on the putting green at the end of the course, or in other parts of the course that require delicate accuracy. They are meant to be the clubs with the shortest distance and the highest accuracy, usually only going a few yards to the target. Balls hit with putters are not meant to fly up in the air. Rather, they are just pushed lightly along the ground where they will roll gently to the target. Putting is arguably the most important part of the game, so it is a good idea to get a nice putter and practice a bunch with it.
These 3 types of clubs are the basis for the game of golf. When you begin to start recognizing when you should use a wood or an iron, that is when you are beginning to get a hang for the game. Until then, you will just have to practice all you can with the golf clubs that you have.

25Tutoring Golf Accessories To Improve Your Form
Posted By: James on December 25, 2010 at 9:27 pmMany experts use golf club weights which they simply attach to the end of their clubs. They make slow swings just like they normally would, and they repeat the action over and over. This repetition with the added weight resistance allows the golfer`s muscles to grow at huge rates. All of the muscles required to make powerful swings are built up even stronger than they would be after a normal game of golf. This is how professional golfers are able to use the lighter golf clubs and still make powerful shots that will go hundreds and hundreds of yards accurately.
Another way to get better at golfing is to have some sort of putting green equivalent set up someplace that you can access it every day. Use the same putter and the same golf balls that you would regularly use, and set up the situation like it would be at the end of a game. Practice getting it into the hole over and over, so that your putting skills progress and you are able to get it almost every time whenever you get towards the end. This is a valuable skill to have, and will keep quite a few points off of your score while everyone else is racking up unnecessary points by missing the hole.
Instructional videos will always help you to improve your technique. If you can watch people who are trained to make the motions perfectly without any flaw, you will have much more luck in your efforts to emulate them. You can find instructional DVDs in almost any golf store, or you can simply find free movie clips to download from the internet if you are feeling up to it. They will give all of the tips and tricks you could ask for, so be prepared to stand in front of the TV with your club as you learn about how all of the pros situate themselves in preparation for a swing.
If you are not very good at golf, there is no reason to stay that way. Using some of the accessories and tools that I mentioned, you can improve your physical ability as well as your knowledge about how you should handle the clubs. With enough determination and application of what you learn, you can start to immediately notice your games being played better. So get started today, and look for some of the things that can help you. You will be glad that you spend the money and time to do so.

22Picking the Appropriate Golf Instructor for Children
Posted By: James on December 22, 2010 at 9:18 pmYou want to first start out by searching for someone who is experienced. This will allow you to find the most experienced instructor possible. Because children learn differently than adults, you need a highly experienced instructor. Someone who has just started teaching is generally not the best choice of instructors because they generally lack the ability to tailor lessons to a level that a child can understand.
Additional considerations are you want someone who has verifiable references. Especially helpful is if they can provide references for children that they have taught. While you generally will not be able to talk to the child, you can at least talk to the parent. This will allow you to talk to someone that has experience with the instructor that you are considering to see how well they worked with children. As you can imagine this can be very helpful in deciding which instructor is really best for your child.
You should also try to find an instructor that works with children. This will allow you to have the best possible match for your child. Even if they are not currently instructing other children at the time, experience working with children should be a must. The amount of skill as well as patience that is required to teach children is very much different than the amount of time and patience that is required to teach adults.
Someone who has an attitude or a rough instructional style is generally not a good match for children. You want someone who has a very friendly and cheerful disposition to teach your child. This will allow your child to look forward to going to their golfing lessons, rather than be upset when it is time to actually go for lessons. A child who enjoys going and actually enjoys their instructor is much more likely to appreciate the instructor than someone who dislikes their instructor.
Always set up a time for your child to meet the potential instructor. You want to ensure that your child feels comfortable with the instructor so arranging a time when everyone can meet and talk for a few minutes with no pressures is a really good idea. This is usually much cheaper than paying for a full session of lessons that are not used. Especially since most instructors will provide a free initial meeting this gives a perfect time to meet. Some instructors will also provide a free or greatly reduced initial lesson as well, if the instructor offers this it is very wise to take them up on it. You can learn a lot by watching their actual teaching style to see how they interact specifically with your child during a lesson.
Take the time to really look around; you should avoid jumping to the first instructor that you find. Your child needs someone who can help them expand their skills in a friendly and encouraging environment. Stressing out and screaming is something that an instructor should not do with a child, there should be no temper tantrums under any circumstances so if you notice the instructor behaves this way, find someone else. Never ignore your gut instincts; this is the perfect chance to allow you to really see what your child can do with the right instructor.

Women seem to need more shading from the sun than men, so this is where the first category of accessories will come in. It is also possible to wear a large hat to shade just the facial region. It is always a good idea to wear sunglasses when you are going to be outside for a long time. It can help improve your focus on the ball in order to improve your game, and it can protect your eyes from harmful rays emitted by the sun. Keep this in mind as you choose your clothing accessories for the golf game.
Do you not feel like carrying your own clubs around, and do you not feel like hiring a caddy to carry them for you? Well, the perfect golf accessory for women is available right now in the form of the motorized caddy. You can make your way across the whole golf course at your own pace, and keep all of your golf clubs right with you the entire time. The motorized caddy will keep them all right there with you, with almost no effort. You can charge up the caddy with a wall plug, taking just a few hours for a full charge that will last you for quite a bit of distance. 14 clubs weigh quite a bit, especially if you have a steel golf club set. Carrying them by yourself could result in soreness lasting for quite a few days.
Finally, women can purchase the ultimate golf accessory: a custom golf cart. It feels great to be carried all over the golf course and never have to walk, and now the custom golf carts that are available will allow you to do it in style. You can find companies selling many different sizes, seating anywhere from one person to 4 people along with all of their golf clubs. You can equip your golf cart with all sort of extras, like a stereo system or something of similar extravagance. Golf carts are perfect for getting from point A to point B, so if you golf enough and have enough money to afford it, it is a great way to get started in golf accessories.
The best way to find an accessory that you want is to pay attention throughout the day. Figure out places that make you uncomfortable, or ways that you could be enjoying yourself more. Then, imagine some accessory that would allow you to do so. Chances are that it has already been invented and manufactured, and if it hasn`t then you can patent it and get rich. Either way you will end up with a new golf accessory that will improve your playing experience in one way or another, and this is what matters the most. Golf accessories can come in the form of so many different things that it is hard to pinpoint what exactly a golf accessory is. However, if it means more enjoyment on your part then you shouldn`t worry about classification – just enjoy it.

Preparation helps individuals to feel less inhibited and successful. Children can be especially self conscious about their activity in sports, which is why it can be so helpful for their parents to explain the game to them before they are presented with the junior golf equipment that they would be using while playing the game.
There are some pieces of junior golf equipment that will seem obvious, and other items that may seem to be less obvious. Of course, an individual will need the correct golf clubs and golf balls. These are the basics and the necessities of junior golf equipment. In addition, it will be very helpful for youths to have a golf club bag, in order for them to easily carry around their equipment. One of the best investments that a person can make when it comes to junior golf equipment is to get a bag with wheels on it. Even junior golf clubs can be heavy at times, and a child will be more capable of moving their clubs from one place to another if they are able to pull or roll the bag around.
